GENERAL ASSEMBLY APPROVES STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM

On April 22, 2001 the General Assembly gave their approval to implement the Stewardship Program . This was a great day for Kimisis.

We can now move towards becoming better Christians and stewards of our beloved

Kimisis through managing the spiritual and material aspects of our parish. In the months ahead we will be

communicating the program and explaining how you can give of your TIME, TALENTS and TREASURES to insure the survival of our parish.

What is my Stewardship Commitment?

The stewardship commitment consists of three things:

TIME, TALENTS, and

TREASURES

When we ask you for your commitment in November we will be asking for all three items. It’s a wise and responsible use of the special gifts God entrusts to us.

TIME                Time is a priceless period of opportunity, which we can use to fulfill our life’s potential or waste on useless pursuits. You can give by being active in the church and its committees and participating in fund-raising (like the festival), etc.

TALENT       Each of us is given different abilities that we can use to benefit one another. It is up to us to recognize and develop these talents. You can use your talents by helping with Church projects such as Teaching, Building, Cooking, Baking, Accounting, Cleaning etc.

TREASURES     Each of us should return to God a portion of our blessings so that the Church may continue to grow and provide a spiritual place for all of us.

In addition to TIME and TALENTS, we will be asking for each of you to make a weekly, monthly or yearly pledge offering. The recommended weekly offering, which is only a suggested guideline, is one hour of salary per week. This is not a pre-requisite. Some will have resources and the desire to give more. Others, because of their personal situation will be able to contribute only at a lesser rate. It is a matter of conscience, which you and every other parishioner must decide for himself/herself.

“Each one should give, then as he has decided, not with regret or out of sense of duty; for God loves the one who gives gladly.” Corinthians 9:7
