June 7, 2007.In her proposal, Angela received permission to have Father George bless the aircraft before departure and sing some hymns. Birthright provides caring, non-judgmental support to girls and women who are distressed by an unplanned pregnancy. Baby Bundles consist of items needed to care for newborn babies. The drive was initiated by our Girl Scouts (Holmdel Troops 30, 146, 337 and 1502) but throughout Holmdel, almost 20 troops consisting of over 100 girls, participated in the collection and prepared the bundles. Girls assembled the bundles on February 23rd, as photographed with Fr. George. The Girl Scouts also designed homemade greeting cards that were attached to each basket. The project actually began in January as the troops began collecting baby items and worked on their "child care" badges and try-its.
