G O.Y.A. RULES AND REGULATIONS
The purpose of G.O.Y.A. is to direct me to become a worthy servant of my Lord
Jesus Christ within the Orthodox Christian Faith. My fellowship with my peers in
(eligious, educational, service, social, athletic and cultural activities should always
reflect my Christian Faith.
I hereby agree to abide by and observe all the rules and regulations that have been set down by the State Youth Committee and by my parish youth group (Name of local youth group) and in particular:
1. To attend Church Services, Sunday School, Religious Conferences and Retreats faithfully.
2. To obey and respect all directions of the youth advisors, coaches and adult leaders while attending youth functions.
3. Not to drive an automobile to any, Local, District or State Youth functions without the specific permission of my Priest, Youth Advisor and Parent/Guardian. No passengers will be permitted without the permission of my Priest, Youth Advisor and Parent/Guardian.
4. Not to leave the grounds at games or other functions without receiving the advisor1s permission.
5. To attend practice faithfully for games, as well as meetings, social and other functions.
6. Not to use the following: abusive language, cheating, stealing, lying, alcohol, cigarettes drugs or to become involved in physical violence and damages.
7. All Rules of Conduct at Social Events will be strictly obeyed.
8. Not to violate the rules and regulations of G.O.Y.A. as outlined in the Youth Handbook.
If any of the above rules and regulations are broken, the privilege of attending and participating in youth functions will be denied.
The Parish Priest and Youth Advisors will review all infractions with input from the Executive Youth Board.

GOYA RULES & GUIDELINES
(1) Church attendance of both adults and youth. For all athletes and coaches,
Church attendance is mandatory before or on the days of games depending on the Districts schedule.
(2) Sunday School Teaching, Youth Bible Class, Choir, Altar, regular church attendance
(3) Religious Conferences and Retreats
(4) Overnight Retreats Christ Encounters
(5) Excused only by Fr. George

GOODSTANDING GOYAn
(6) The rules of the State Youth Committee MUST be followed.
(7) In order to participate in GOYAN activities, each GOYAN MUST pay dues before October 31
(8) GOYANS are encouraged to be involved in all fundraisers in some way.
(9) GOYANS are required to act appropriately toward advisors, chaperones, clergy, and to each other at all times. Any violation of this rule may result in a conference with advisors, priests, and parents.
(10) Deadlines must be adhered to in order to participate in various events and functions.
(11) If you commit to attend an event, you must pay for the event even if you choose not to attend in the end.
SIGHTS & SOUNDS
In order to participate in SIGHTS & SOUNDS, each GOYAN must:
· Pay dues
· Attend a minimum of 4 meetings before March
· Submit at least 4 Sights and participate in 2 Sounds
· Attend all Sounds practices (Only 3 excused missed practices allowed)
· Attend at least 2 religious activities before Sights & Sounds (or Volunteer work as assigned by Fr. George)
· Exceptions excused only by Fr. George
ELIGIBILITY FOR EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Election rules as defined by the
election committee and approved by the GOYA at least one month prior to elections
· Every candidate must attend 7 of 10 meetings
I.
Music
A. A written contract will be prepared and signed between the Band / D.J. and The hosting Church / Community. This will be discussed, signed, and fully agreed to prior to the scheduled event.
B. No profane language. No curse words or swear words will be used.
C. No suggestive dance themes will be permitted.
D. Specific songs / music, if possible, will be listed.
II.
Attire
A. Three categories of clothing will be used depending on the particular event:
1. Casual
a) School clothes: jeans and sneakers.
2. Church Clothes
a) Nice jackets, dress shirts, ties, dress sweaters, shoes for men.
b) Dresses, skirts, dress shirts, dress pants, shoes for women.
3. Semi-Formal
a) Attire worn for formal occasions, like Mr. And Miss Junior
G.O.Y.A.
b) In no event will midriff tops, halter-tops, shorts, cut-offs, or bare feet be permitted or tolerated.
c) Any
youth participant arriving at the point of departure from his / her Church and is not
in proper attire, will be immediately sent home by the Youth Advisor.
III.
Dancing
A. Unacceptable dance behavior will not be tolerated. This includes:
a) Provocative dancing
b) Promiscuous dancing
c) Suggestive dancing
B. There will be no bumping and grinding, or leg wrapped over one's back.
C. There will be no humping on the floor.
D. Proper dancing, in a disciplined manner, with a young lady and a young gentleman only, will be accepted.

Lighting
A. Lighting will be be set at an appropriate level

Enforcement
A. Three warnings will be allotted for infractions of the Rules of Conduct:
1 First warning to the Youth Advisor(s) and Priest, if present, in charge of the respective young person(s) in question about the disciplinary practice / incident.
2. Second warning constitutes removal of person(s) involved from the floor and held under the responsibility of the Youth Advisor until the end of the event.
3. Third warning is the same procedure as the second plus the young person(s) will not be able to attend the next social function at the District or at the State level.
VI. Communication
A. Prior to all social functions, the Rules of Conduct will be highlighted and announced and the three warnings explained explicitly.
B. Priests,
Youth Advisors, and Parents must be kept informed at all times about the young people.
VII.
Overnight Trips
All luggage and personal belongings will be inspected at curbside prior to loading the bus.
